The history of /who/ wiki
The TARDIS Data Core Wiki inadvertently got involved when /who/ was trying to change the TARDIS wiki page for Danny Pink to Danny Splink but they locked the page. An anon came up with the idea to create a wiki all of /who/'s own, and hey presto, /who/ made their own wiki with their own Danny Splink page. In your face TARDIS Data Bore.
A SPLINK wiki was created during the same thread but /who/ ended up going with this one. Anyway you can see it all happen here: http://archive.4plebs.org/tv/thread/50451609/#50454845
From these humble beginnings the /who/ wiki sold out immediately, becoming an overnight sensation on Twitter and Facebook. Well okay, that's not strictly true, although wikia does have a shitload of ads.
The First Great Whovian Personality War
It was only a matter of time before our humble wiki began gathering attention from the greater fandom at large. Though no specific statements on the matter have been released by any parties, it seems either Elizabeth Sandifer or (far more likely) someone who knew her discovered the original version of her page on this wiki, where careless anons had seen fit to accuse her of beating up kindergartners, sticking chess pieces up her anus, and also an actual murder. After a bit of wrangling from the far more powerful Wikia Admins, the current version of the page resurfaced days later.
At an indeterminate point in the near past or future, a fool (who may very well have come from the Tardis Data Core Wiki) began deleting articles left right and center because they were "unprofessional" and "biased", and began replacing them with punishingly bland trifle. He swiftly recieved a 903 year ban.
The Next Great Whovian Personality War
No one would have believed in the early years of the 21st century that our wiki was being watched keenly and closely by intelligences lesser than ours, and yet as mortal as our own; that as we busied ourselves about our various concerns we were scrutinised and studied, perhaps almost as narrowly as a man with a microscope might scrutinise the transient creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water. Yet across the gulf of the internet, minds that are to our minds as ours are to those of the beasts that perish, intellects vast and cool and unsympathetic, regarded this wiki with envious eyes, and slowly and surely drew their plans against us.
In a single day and night of misfortune, Neon Visual's actual PR agency went through and systematically removed all traces of criticism against him from our wiki and reported the users who attempted to stop the carnage to the all-powerful Wikia Admins, against whom there is no hope of defense. Even the wiki's admins were hopeless to appeal the bans, though luckily a particularly clever admin (who I bet is really handsome and has obviously had hundreds of girlfriends) healed the damage, banned the PR firm, attempted to appeal, and maybe looked the other way if maybe one or the other of the banned posters just re-enlisted under new names.
On August 11th, 2016 in another attempt to get the wiki erased from history (again), His Majesty GOAT #DWSR reporter Adam Orford had his page erased from the wiki for harassment (oh, the irony) even though everything on his page was 100% verified canon. RIP
