Jazz Hands is the unofficial nickname of the upcoming 13th Doctor.
A young, lively man with the appearance of a 14 year old, the Thirteenth Doctor first appeared to the Twelfth Doctor to help him double team his out of control wife Mrs. Robinson in the 2017 Christmas special, A Christmas Carol 2: Electric Boogaloo. Known for wearing a pea blue jacket and matching shirt, sunglasses and known affectionately by fans as Jazz Hands, named after his quirky tendency to suffer from Parkinson's Disease.
In the first set of promotional photos released, the Thirteenth Doctor is performing Jazz Hands, his signature pose.
According to an unnamed and trustworthy source who claimed to be a runner at the BBC, the 13th Doctor will debut in the 2015 Christmas Special, alongside Peter Capaldi and Alex Kingston. He will be referred to by River Song as "The face I never met" and the ghost of Christmas yet to come.
While the mysterious actor that will play Jazz Hands is currently only 20, he will be 23 when he properly takes over from Peter Capaldi in 2017.
So far the only reported identifiable features of the 13th Doctor are that he is very young, energetic, wore a blue suit in his photoshoot, and was seen in pictures performing jazz hands. Because of this and the actor's unknown nature he referred to by /who/ as Jazz Hands, or The Jazz Hands Doctor.
Over the course of 2016 there will only be a handful of specials broadcast, similar to 2009. With Clara already killed off in a horrific and brutal fashion during the upbeat and life affirming Series 9 Finale, the Doctor will travel with a new companion for those specials. Cara Delevingne will be playing the role of this interim companion, and will continue to do so for at least Jazz Hands' first episode, playing a transitional role between the two eras of the show, as Peter Capaldi and Steven Moffat, as well as much of the production crew leave.
Up until 30/10/15 "Jazz hands" or the 13th Doctor has not had any appearances. His first appearance was in an ongoing audio series " Doctor who Jazz Hands" In which there is a pilot episode that includes Davros, the Daleks and a cameo from a fan favorite ninth Doctor Christopher Eccleston. The audio series that stars Jazz hands ( goo.gl/EJQPLP ) is the only canon series currently with the 13th Doctor though there have been insparations. The prequel to the audios will air Christmas 2015 that will feature the 12th Doctor and will show how he became so jazzy.
The theme used for Jazz Hands' episodes has often been praised as the best edition since the original arrangement was composed in 1963.
